WELLPROD™
Course 08 Intervention

The Well Productivity ProgrammePrevention and Remediation

When damage can't be avoided, it has to be treated. This course is the engineer's toolkit for protecting and restoring productivity, preventing damage, dissolving it with acid, fracturing past it, cleaning perforations mechanically, and shutting off unwanted water and gas.

What you'll be able to do

Match the treatment to the damage

The wrong treatment can do more harm than the damage it targets. Course 08 trains you to choose between prevention, chemical, hydraulic and mechanical remedies, and to design each one to actually recover productivity.

Prevent the damage

Design fluid quality, fluid-loss control and compatibility testing to keep damage out.

Dissolve it

Select and stage matrix acidizing for sandstone and carbonate, with effective diversion.

Fracture past it

Apply fracture mechanics, proppant transport and tip screen-out to create new conductivity.

Clean & conform

Use mechanical clean-up, reperforating and shut-off to recover and keep zones in line.

From prevention to cure

Keep damage out, dissolve it, fracture past it, clean it away, or shut off what you can't fix: each module is one branch of the remediation decision tree.

Who this course is for

  • Stimulation, intervention and production engineers planning treatments.
  • Completion engineers selecting prevention and conformance strategies.
  • Production engineers deciding between acidizing, fracturing and mechanical clean-up.
  • Engineers continuing from Course 07, turning diagnosis into action.

What you leave with

  • The ability to design fluid-quality and fluid-loss controls that prevent damage.
  • A method for selecting and staging matrix acidizing in sandstone and carbonate.
  • A working grasp of fracture mechanics, proppant transport and tip screen-out.
  • Confidence choosing mechanical clean-up and WOR/GOR conformance remedies.
How it's taught

Problem-based, not slide-based

Every module opens with a real well problem. You work the engineering, then the theory is introduced to explain what you found: the way the material was honed in the classroom over fifteen years.

01

Start with a well

Each topic is anchored to a field scenario with real data, not an abstract derivation.

02

Work the problem

You match the right treatment to the diagnosed damage and design it, then the theory frames why.

03

Carry it forward

These remedies complete the diagnose-to-treat loop that runs through the programme.
